Summer is arriving....

...and with that....vacation plans are set and I can not wait!!! We are headed out of town in couple of weeks for a few days to North Carolina. But the main vacation is in August...that seems so far away!! We will be headed to South Carolina to Myrtle Beach. I love the beach, but Mike really loves the beach. Two chairs, an umbrella, a cooler full of....think creatively...a book and the sound of the waves....for 7 days!!! Ahhhh!!

I have good news...some of you may have known that I have been having a lot of female problems lately, and the Doctor ordered a biospy...it came back negative, and all of my blood work looked fabulous....the only problem with this is I am back at square one with my symptoms. We are still working on it though.

My little Savannah was sick this week with ear infections, pink eye and a virus of some sort....but...with a bottle of the yummy pink stuff...she was feeling very well by the end of the week. I love that babies can bounce back so quickly!! Just hate seeing them sick....but with all of this...she is now MOBILE!! She is crawling!! WOOT!! Well, when I say crawl...she is doing the "scooch"...push with her feet and pull with her arms...and like all the other grands before her, the magazine rack has become the hot spot!!! Now we know why there are only SPORTS magazines in that rack!! HAHAHA!! My books are safely secure in another room.

Well, the holiday weekend gives us a three day weekend...we will be cooking out at my Mom's this weekend...which will be wonderful..given the circumstances around Mother's Day we did not get to celebrate, so we can make up for it this weekend!!! Loving that all the pools are opening up this weekend too!! So COME ON LET'S GET ON WITH IT SUMMER!!

The only photos I took this week were of Cameran's new dog and couple of Cameran (being TOO COOL)

A few random moments of the past few days

Wow...time just flies...my grandson informed me on Monday that he only had 17 days of school left!!! Which means this fall he will be headed to the first grade. I must tell you about his "end of the year" spell. On Friday of last week, Sharon went to school to eat lunch with him and before she left she asked the teacher if his behavior had been doing okay. The teacher did not have a good report on that. It seems that Cameran has gotten a bit bored with school, and he believes he is the designated CLASS CLOWN. OH MY!!! During their testing, he decided it was not all that important, stood up on his chair and started dancing and singing. DOUBLE OH MY!!! Well, actually, as his Nana, I have to chuckle about it, because as his Mother was so angry she could chew nails in two, I was thinking "if this is the worst he ever does, you have it made my dear". Well, he admitted to the boredom and that he just loves to make his friends laugh. He was grounded, no TV, Wii, or friends all week, plus he had to write sentences for a few nights after dinner. I suppose if any good came out of this, his hand writing is improving!!

Well is it any wonder school bores him? Here are some of his recent activities and it looks like so much more fun!! HEHEHE...I can say this, I am his NANA!!

Yesterday I went with Jesse's Preschool Class to the Zoo. Traci just loves going with the kids on their outings and invited me to go along. I was thrilled to go!! Those little one had a blast!! These chilren range from 3 to 5 in this class. Ahh to be this age and see things the way they do again!! The thing about children this age, they were all totally worn out when the day was done, but you know what? SO WAS I!!! I am getting old!! Here are few of the pics from our day to the zoo.

Here are my latest scrap pages. They are linked for credits.

A Memory

We are sadly saying goodbye to someone we all love so much, my Aunt Peggy. She lost her battle of two and half years with cancer, on Monday Morning.

This photo was taken just before she got sick. She was such a gorgeous lady!!

In honor of my most favorite Aunt, I would like to share some of the fabulous memories about her. She was 15 years older than me, so you can imagine, in my preteen years, I spent a lot of time with her and thought she was the COOLEST. She had the best sense of humor, and was so much fun to be around ALWAYS! And what is so AWESOME is that my girls were able to spend the same kind of time with her and thought the exact same way about her. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother. I found myself, in parenting, to a bit more like her than my own Mom. She was a NO HOLDS BAR type of Mom. If her kids did something, or asked advice, she told it JUST LIKE IT IS...no dancing around the issue, or sugar coating (My Mom will do this sometimes). I could go on and on about her personality and traits all day. But I want to tell you of a couple of my favorite memories of her. First, when I was about 10 or so, I came to stay with my grandparents for a few days, and she was there quite often. My grandfather loved to set up at the Flea Market and sell his little treasures. So we took him. While he was selling his things, she and I took off around the rest of the market to find our own treasures. We found all kinds of things..but we ran across this one little stand that had old "antique" clothing. We started putting these clothes on over our own clothes, and putting on the crazy hats. The lady running the booth was getting aggitated with us, because she thought we were playing and not buying, and she was right. She finally asked us to leave. My Aunt leaned over and whispered in my ear "Boy she has a bad attitude, wonder who peed in her cornflakes." Well, being around 10 yo, what did I do? I turned around and asked the lady "Who peed in your cornflakes?" My aunt cracks up laughing and said we better go. The lady started fussing at how rude we were, and my Aunt looked at her and said "You need to get a life lady, we were just having some fun." Yeah, sounds like she might not have been the best influence, but really she was....she was really good at teaching us all about the value of your ownself, and not letting others perceptions make you do things you don't want to do. Another moment that stands out to me is about 8 years ago. I made a trip to TN to see my step daughter. I had to go in one day and come back, and needed someone to go with me, so she volunteered. We had the most wonderful time. A 7 hour car ride there and back just flew by!! We spent about and hour at my step daughter's house, but we stopped so many cool places, that I would have never stopped to see if she had not been with me. She would spot a place or sign, and say "oh we need to check that place out" and we did!! It was a 16 hour day of so much fun!! The last time we did something together was about 3 months ago. She and I went out for the day...she really did not feel like it, but insisted that we go. It wasn't a very long day, she could not take it too long. But even in her pain and suffering..she was joking and laughing. We met my girls for lunch too, so I am very happy that we all had that last good memory of her together. I had not seen her since that day, although I talked to her on the phone quite a bit. I will always miss her, but she will ALWAYS put a huge smile on my face.

Love and Hugs Aunt P!! You are forever in my heart!

The Past Week....

I have had a bit of a tough week this week. Seems it's mostly the little things getting to me. But I believe the cause comes from my hormonal state. Being Menopausal, or Premenopausal, which ever the case may be, is quite an emotional, mental and physical journey. I have spoken with my Mom about it quite a bit, and she never went through these many symptoms that I have been going through. Apparently, my Grandmother did not either. But, as they say, "WHAT DOES NOT KILL US WILL ONLY MAKE US STRONGER".

Our cookout for my step daughter was a bust. Two days of preparation, all the food, and no one showed up (almost no one). They all said they were coming. This has never happened to me before. But, the good news, the few of us that were here, had a very lovely time! We did some family reminiscing. Sharon, despite the water went out her house, managed to get herself and the kids here, but Traci could not make it because her car broke down. She was quite upset about not being able to make it and her car. Needless to say...We have all been eating a lot of hamburgers this week. Here is a picture of the cake. Yeah it was pretty yummy!!

This weekend is Cameran's first T Ball game! He is excited...well we are all excited!! He seems to be doing very well, and looks as though he may have some potential in this sport. Sharon is the Team Mom, so we know what that means...I get to be the team Nana!! HAHA!! She has already recruited me to work concessions with her.

Other grandchildren news: Jaiden spent some time with me yesterday and and she is such a little doll. She is so happy and carefree. She is talking really well now. I don't always understand everything. But she is talking in sentences, so you can get most of it. Jesse has a couple of more weeks of his swimming lessons at the YMCA. He seems to really love it. He spent the night with me on Friday night and as always, was just a cuddle bug! I had not seen him in about a week and a half. He must have told me 10 times that he missed me. How sweet is that??

Well, here are my scrapping pages for the week. These are my faves. I have linked them up so you can click on them to get credits.
